Winston Churchill- WAS THE PRIME MINISTER OF BRITAIN DURING WORLD WAR II. HE WAS A LIBERAL AND FOUGHT HARD AGAINST FASCISM. Douglas MacArthur- AN AMERICAN GENERAL DURING WORLD WAR II AND LED THE PHILIPPINE ARMY. HE ALSO LED AMERICA THROUGH THE PACIFIC WAR WITH JAPAN. Hirohito- WAS EMPEROR OF JAPAN STARTING IN 1926. HE PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN JAPAN’S EXPANSION AND AMBITIONS IN THE PACIFIC WAR. Erwin Rommel WAS A HIGHLY RESPECTED GERMAN OFFICER. HE WAS ALSO NAMED THE DESERT FOX BECAUSE OF HIS GREAT SKILL IN DESERT WARFARE. Dwight D. Eisenhower- an American General and supreme commander of the Allied forces in Europe during WWII. He successfully invaded Germany. He later became the 34th President of the United States. Franklin D. Roosevelt- WAS THE 32ND PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, SERVING FOR FOUR WHOLE TERMS FROM 1933 TO 1945. HE LED THE U.S. THROUGH THE GREAT DEPRESSION AND WORLD WAR II. Joseph Stalin- WAS THE LEADER OF THE SOVIET UNION FROM THE 1920'S UNTIL 1953. HE BELIEVED IN SOCIALISM IN ONE COUNTRY AND ATTEMPTED TO BRUTALLY INDUSTRIALIZE RUSSIA. Adolf Hitler- WAS THE FASCIST CHANCELLOR OF GERMANY FROM 1933-1945. HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HOLOCAUST AND BEGAN WORLD WAR II. Chang Kai-Shek- WAS A CHINESE MILITARY LEADER WHO LED THE CHINESE NATIONALIST PARTY AND THEN BECAME THE HEAD OF THE CHINESE NATIONALIST GOVERNMENT IN 1928. Harry Truman- WAS THE 33RD PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AFTER FDR DIED IN 1945. DURING HIS PRESIDENCY HE OVERSAW THE END OF WAR IN EUROPE AND THE ATOMIC BOMBS DROPPED ON JAPAN. HE ALSO OVERSAW THE FOUNDING OF THE UNITED NATIONS. |
